Economical purchase of DVD RAM disc`s ?
Hi i have just been given a Panasonic Freeview DVD recorder, it was supplied with ONE DVD Ram disc. i do realise this type of disc is rather expensive when compared with DVD RW disc`s.
It seems to me that the RAM disc`s have a few advantages over the RW disc`s, which probably accounts for the increased cost of purchasing them new.
Would any ot the members have found an economical place to purchase these DVD RAM disc`s from, please.
if so would you kindly let me know, thanks.

RE: a newbie, would like some definitive details on connecting up stuff to his TV ?????
Thanks for that buddy that is most helpfull indeed, now, it looks as if i dont really need a Freeview aerial afterall all !!!!.
Come to think of it, what the hell did i need a new aerial for, anyway ?????? O`, i remember now, so i could/can watch one channel and record another !
plus, of course i have now found out, that there isnt a "notify me of replies" button to be seen anywhere !!!!,
What does "OP" mean ?, it is obviously an abbreviation for something, probably me, "OLD PERSON" and you members are just being polite, LOL.

RE: a newbie, would like some definitive details on connecting up stuff to his TV ?????
First of all lads and lasses a thousand apologies to you all, i didnt know i had all these very helpfull replies, thank you enormously for giving me something to mull over. i shall now tick the relevant box to get notification of replies if i can find it, LOL. !!!
I thought i had explained everything sufficiently enough, but of course i realise NOW i hadnt given all the facts that you obviously need, to give me the best help/advice you can..
For starters i now have a chap booked up to fix me up with a Freeview Aerial next Monday. I shall then be able to use the Freeview box for recording onto DVD, this will then be my only recording medium, i have this very afternoon put all the video cassettes into a cardboard box and put them with the VCR in the Loft where they will be quickly forgotten !.
I hope to get a Freeview Recorder with a Hard drive and twin tuners when i can affford it,, as i already know how bloody good they are.
As for the Sky Dish and Sky set top box i have, i have been told by the Sky phone chap that i will get Free Sat until the card expires, whenever that will be nobody knows, but it will only cost £20 to reinstate it. I was amazed at how hard he tried to try and get me to change my mind, to stop me cancelling !.
As i understand it ?, Free Sat channels are more plentifull than Freeview channels and some are different, but i didnt think i would be able to recieve Freeview Channels through the Free Sat Sky Dish. and of course i wouldnt be able to record them anyway as my Recorder (such as it is) will be connected to the Freeview aerial
I have NOW read thoroughly read through the Manual for the Freeview recorder, a Panasonic DMR-EZ27EB, and i reckon now that if i cant connect the dammed thing up to the TV i am an IDIOT !!!!!
My TV is a Sony KV-28FX60U OK, so it is big and second hand, but its all weve got, LOL.
Anyway thanks for all your very helpfull replies, it is very good to get more than one persons view of the same thing !.

RE: Why was I sent a password reminder?

a newbie, would like some definitive details on connecting up stuff to his TV ?????
Hi, i dont easily understand TV manuals, so when it comes to connecting up more than one item to the TV i start to struggle to get them all to work as they should, are there by any chance some definitive details on how to connect more than one item up to a tv ?
I currently have a SKY box and Sky dish, but due to money constraints i have cancelled my subscription to Sky and will then be recieving Free Sat through my Sky Dish and set top box.
Also, currently i have a DVD player and a VHS recorder which is connected to my loft aerial and records the 4 analogue channels sufficiently so the misus never misses Corrie while watching something else on Sky at the same time !. If she is happy, so am I, LOL.
So now a friend is GIVING me a DVD recorder with a Freeview reciever built in !, and i havent got a clue how to introduce it into my present set up. What i probably will do (in fact i think i will have to do this) is to REMOVE the VHS recorder completly and put the Freeview DVD recorder in its place, although i do know i shall have to get a better Aerial for my Loft.
In fact talking of Aerials, some people tell me, to recieve FREEVIEW you have to have a DIGITAL aerial, but i was under the impression that a FREEVIEW box converted the Analogue signal into a DIGITAL signal.
Can anyone please shed some light on my little problem ?. thanks

TV is wishy washy colour when viewing Movie DVD`s ?
Watching our TV normally the Colour is fine, but if we play a DVD the movies are almost Black and White, all the Colour Controls on the TV are turned up to there MAX.
We GOT a Cheap (£40) bush dvd player when our even cheaper (£30) Maxim dvd player broke down, thinking the cheap Bush DVD player was crap, because of the poor colour we got a (more reputable make) SONY dvd player for £50 today and the colour is no better, so what can i do now ?
Would there by any chance be a DEMO disc available that i can play, that would for example put a name to the colours that are being displayed so we can come to some decision as to what i can do about it.
It is very confusing because normal TV programs are perfectly OK, i can play them on my Lap Tops DVD drive and the Movies show there true colours perfectly.
