The answer is easier than you think, just ring the helpline number printed on the box! They told me the hack over the phone, which I have tried, and it works. (Having said that, I`m returning mine to Aldi, it`s way too noisy during operation).
The hack is:
At the blue "Tevion" screen, open the disk drawer.
Enter 0, 0, 8, 6, 0, 0, 0 and then "enter" on the remote control.
You should now see a grey bar at the bottom of the screen with an "0" at the left hand side, for region 0 (ie all regions). Job done!
