RE: Cheap Ink Refills
Poundland have printer cartridges for Canon iP4000 (and others - I think Epson) for £1...seem to work ok!
RE: Cheap camera
:)
Hello James
Still very happy with the Lumicron. We`ve tested it in wide range of conditions and it performs very well. Not the brightest of pictures (but easily corrected with PhotoShop). I actually bought it for my wife and she is delighted with it! I particularly like the large number of setting options. Would summarise it as a middle-of-the-road £170 camera selling at £50!
Good luck

RE: Cheap camera
Hello all
I must have been lucky with my Lumicron LDC-618Z3, £49.99 from KwikSave, inc 32mb SD card. After 3 weeks` various use, I`m more than happy. Admittedly the pictures sometimes seem somewhat less "colourful" than my 4Mp Olympus Camedia, but this is easily corrected in Picasa (and of course Photoshop). The definition is excellent, although camera shake may require a tripod eg when indoors without flash. Also autoflash tends to grossly overexpose, but there are plenty of alternative flash settings. Re batteries, 2 standard AAs is an ideal low-cost set-up, easy to carry 1 or 2 spare charged pairs.
I would say at this price this camera is the bargain of the year (if you get a good one, perhaps). However I think it`s better suited to the proficient amateur, as the settings often need optimising. Point and shoot sometimes disappoints. Compared with both my (more pricey) Olympus digicams, the Lumicron controls are very easy to use (no tedious sub-menus and sub-sub-menus), although admittedly the Mode Dial is too easily rotated accidently.
In short, if you fancy a very cheap quality camera that requires some user input, buy one! (if still available)
