I have just bought a Dv-h500 dvd
I bought it off the net form discount tv uk, i asked for it to be multi- region and the man put it on a computer and did something to some chip, it now plays region 1 and 2 and get this on RCE disks the start up prohibition notice (map screen doesnt even come on) ie on patriot and hollowman.
It plays the no problem, to find the shop online just type in discount teac in your search engine and you will come across them.

YOURE RIGHT THEM LOGIC 3000 ARE s***E, HAVING SEEN THE PICTURE QUALITY FIRST HAND.
AS FOR SMART DVD 2000, THERE GOOD BUT MINE FREEZES ON X-MEN, FINAL DESTINATION AND PATRIOT.
AS FOR THE UPDATE, IT IS ONLY A VCD WHICH YOU PUT IN AND WHAT HAPPENS IS IT RESETS THE MEMMORY ON SOME CHIP INSIDE THAT MAKES IT FREEZE ETC.
