RE: Pacific DVD 900 wiring diagram

It may be that every DVD is different, but I`m struggling to see where I can loosen the sliding mechanism. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Andy

Hi,

You`re both spot on. I had been searching the circuit board for the snapped connection. Once a common connection was suggested, I checked the inside of the chassis and could see where it had come loose from.

Now, however, I have a new problem. With DVD tray open, pressing the open/close only works intermittently and is helped by some pressure to the front of the tray (eg in the direction for it to close) - however once it has closed, the motor continues to turn (unless this is the sound of something else moving). Then, pressing the eject does nothing. If I push the try half way out (as I have the unit open) it then finished the eject motion by itself.

Is it possible that there is some kind of sensor to tell the thing when it is open and closed fully? If not, I fear the mechanism is screwed and I don`t have the expertise to take it to pieces to try to resolve.

Any kind of `reset` procedure known if it is down to sensors etc?

Thanks,
Andy

Thanks, appreciated. However, I have tried that, and couldn`t find anything obvious, so still stuck.....

Pacific DVD 900 wiring diagram

Hi there,

My son wedged a dvd in the player and I had to take it apart to un-jam it. In the process I took off the back section that kind of juts out of the main chassis and has all of the SCART and other video connections housed in it. When looking down at the removed back section, there is a black wire on the left hand side soldered into the board on the back section itself. The other end has snapped off wherever it was soldered and I need to solder it back before re-assembling. Does anyone either have a picture of the inside of an intact Pacifc DVD 900, or a schematic or something else that might help? It seems a shame and a waste to have to buy a new DVD player for the sake of one stray wire.

Thanks in advance,
Andy
