CTHD from Movietyme (sorry!)

Sorry to start a new thread about CTHD orders again!!

However, all I want to know is what are the order number of people who received the disc recently from Movietyme.

My order number is just over 7000. What are everybody elses??

RE: DC-DVD.co.uk any good?

Usually very good on the whole.

However, I pre-ordered Charlies Angels in Feb and they debited my card straight away!
Give them their credit though (no pun intended) they did rectify their mistake and having pre-ordered a lot of stuff from them this was the first time this happened.

The usual routine is to debit your card once the DVD has been shipped.

RE: No more excuses, just how bad are Movietyme???

I preordered CTHD 5 on the 17th Jan and still no luck.

I also pre-ordered Charlies Angels. I think I might have to cancel this and just keep my fingers crossed for CTHD.

Check out www.dc-dvd.co.uk

Quite a small outfit I think but they are always quick and reliable, especially with pre-orders. They usually arrive at 2 days before the official release date!

RE: Pamela Anderson/Tommy Lee home movie

I`ve got a nearly complete 170Mb MPG version of the video.

Got it off a friend of a friend.....

Anyway, all the best bits of Pam you can easily get on the net as small individual mpegs. The rest is mostly of Tommy slapping his knob around.

DC DVD - Region 1 DVD`s

Try the following link for DC-DVD.

http://www.dc-dvd.co.uk

I`ve brought most of my Region 1 DVD`s from here. They are not the cheapest, but when pre-ordering you`ll get a discount and the disc always arrives about a week before the release date in my experience. I`ve had a consistently reliable service from them.

I think my next purchase will be Charlie`s Angels. Cameron Diaz - wo ho!

SCART Selector Box

I`ve got a 4:3 Bush TV (stop sniggering at the back) and its only got a single SCART socket.

I`ve got a NTL cable box with a VCR connected to its 2nd socket and also an Encore DV450.

Does anyone know of any highstreet shops that sell SCART selector boxes that are fully wired? (for RGB purposes)

RE: Gamestation

I picked up a silver Encore DV450 from Gamestation in the Arndale Centre, Manchester. It only cost me £149.99! They had an avdert in the window of the shop with a price of £169.99 as well!!

Anyway, the guy behind the counter said they had a whole stack left as well. The machine has firmware version 3.3d.
No problems at all with the player!

RE: cheap players

I`ve seen the LG in my local Our Price in Manchester for £199.99 with 3 free DVD`s from their £12 sale range. Not too bad.

Matsui DVD 110 pause during chapter changes

I`ve got a Matsui DVD 110 player and I`ve noticed that when watching a movie there is a slight pause between chapter breaks.

It is most prominient on the R1 version of the Matrix near the beginning when Trinity is fighting with the police officers. It occurs on other R1 discs but not as badly.

Is it worth me taking the machine back for an exchange? (it is still under the 1 year warranty) Obviously I`ve hacked the region with the remote. What will Currys make of this? especially if I demonsrate the problem with my R1 copy of the Matrix??

Anybody else with the same problem/experiences???

RE: Bush 28

I brought a Bush 28" 4:3 TV from Aldi`s for £179.99 back in October 2000.
So far I am really pleased with it and it appears to have been an absolute bargain! Its only got 1 SCART socket (which is RGB capable though) and minimal other features.
Its connected to an NTL digital TV box and the picture quality is superb!
