RE: People Looking For a Macrovision Remover
Try www.sonel.com , inline macro remover via SCART, £25
RE: www.mx2.org any good?
Yes,
I`ve ordered replacement cartridges from them three or four times now. Prices are excellent and delivery costs low but slow (about a week or so), but ultimately prooved very reliable. I shall continue to use them.
RE: pioneer 340
Yep! pleased to say I have.
Got it delivered last friday from Upgrade Heaven (great service) after pre ordering.
For such a reasonably cheap mainstream player I`m pretty impressed. Picture quality seems excellent, and seems to handle all with ease, its control of the picture is impressive in its self but i`m even more taken by the sound quality at this price point. The grip this player seems to have on tight controlled bass response and detailed oomph! for sound effects beats other palyers I`ve tried hands down, and is at present even competeing with my existing dedicated CD player for prime input position to my audio amp,
You are right no RGB despite the Scart socket, but Svid out gives good result.
I have not yet tried it with any previous problem discs I`ve had (becuase I hire all mine).
Disc drive is a bit dissapointing, not the usual pioneer quality feel, a bit plasticky really and does tend to whirr a bit but seems to be quieting down slightly now its running in, but when up and running and watching the movies I don`t notice it so much.
In summary great picture and sound at this price, and multiregion , macrovision disabled if purchased from Upgrade Heaven, although somewhat plasticky in feel , on the whole I`m more than pleased for what I got for Under £200 (£170 for preordering).
