I got the LG LDA-730 DVD Player several months ago from Future Shop, and it is definitely region 1 only, not region free.
What I did was
1. burned the file to CD (I used CDRW), only 1 file, with the CD closed (i.e. not multi-session disk);
2. put the CD in player (the player was previoiuly set to autoplay in setup);
3. the menu showed itself without pressing any key;
4. press 0 then the pause key;
5. region free tested with a DVD of different region code and found successful.
Quite a number of people had downloaded the file and they may be able to give feedback on their results.

The hack was one posted in this forum for other DVD Model, which I tried and found it worked on LG LDA-730. Link to the hack file below:

Looking for region free hack code for LG LDA-730. The methods currently posted on the internet did not work. Can anybody help?
