TOSHIBA SD200E - Hack or Mod ?

I realise Im rather repeating a question that seems to have been youched upon here and there.. but Im not sure its been clarified.

I understand there is a handset hack for the SD200E. Is this true.

Either way, the costs of chip hacks seems to vary quite substantially.. why the differnces ?, how do I know what Im getting ? is it reverible?.

Finally.. Do I really really benifit that much from having such a mod (yes I realise you can get things earlier and with more content... but HOW MUCH earlier and similarly how much more content.

(Sorry if Im asking a bit much here)
