I`m not really bothered about the digibox (but I would still like to get it working), it is the second phone in the house that I want to get working.

ASDL Problem

I have just upgrade to ASDL which is the dogs danglies compared to my 56k modem. The problem I`ve got is that I have to leave my Sky digibox and one other phone disconnected when I want to go online. I have microfilters on all the phone points in the house, I’ve even tried changing around the microfilters to see if that help but nothing.

No I didn`t try any other hacks my machine was region 2 fresh out of the box.

Andy if you go to www.dvdanswers.co.uk and go to the hardware forum I think there is a soultion to your problem.

Confirmed Hack for the Phillips LX8000

I’ve seen the hack with a RC6 below floating around various forums for a while, but confirmation of the hack as been a bit sketchy. I can now confirm that the hack works perfectly on my virgin untouched player with no problem what so ever.

HACK

With a suitable remote (one for all 4in 1 / 6 in 1 etc)

Step 1
Set op codes for the DVD as per normal (I had to phone the oneforall help line to update my RC6 as the usually 0539 setup did work for my player.)

Step 2
Press DVD button

Make sure player can be powered up from the remote (which means the setup code is right)

Step 3
Press MAGIC button once and the `DVD` button should flash once.

ENTER 085

ENTER 222 222 005 255 Play

Step 4
Power DVD off for 10 secs

Step 5
Power up

Five speaker display MUST be evident and the `multichannel` option should be still evident in the menus.

Player should now operate R1 and R2 discs with Surround working....well mine now does.

If you are looking for a home cinema in a box with a scart then take a look at the new range of Philips. All model play DVD, CD MP3, VCD etc and some also play SACD and naturally have DD and DTS on board.

No you don`t have to have a R1 disk in the machine, also as long as you enter the hack correctly the player is compatible with all region.

If there is a problem with RCE then repeat the hack and enter the region code instead of pressing mute.

3. Press the Mute button on your remote control

RE: grundig 520 r1 problem

If it is a DTS disk then it you won`t get any sound properly because it is only a DD decoder. There should be an option at the beining of the the film for either DTS or dolby surround, chose dolby surround and you should hear the vocies in film.

The hack for the Grundig GDV520 is...

...the same as the Proline 2000 so all you have to do is:

1. Press the Menu button on your remote control
2. Press the buttons 1, 6 and then 7 on your remote control in order, one at a time
3. Press the Mute button on your remote control
4. Exit the Menu and insert the disc to play

After inputing the hack I tried a copy of a R1 Saving Private Ryan and and R2 Gladiator and there was no problem.

A Hack for the Grundig GDV520 system well sort of

I tried the hack for the Goodman 3000 and it worked, well sort of because I got as far as the 2 appearing in the corner, but by the time I pressed 0 and exit the 2 disappeared.

Tried the hack again but the 2 did not appear, so player is still region 2. Maybe if you are quick enough you can get you player region free, but so far I`ve had no luck since the 1st time.

Anyone else got a hack that work for this player
