As far as I understood from the review I read (it`s in Dutch, so I won`t bother to mention the web page) it is standard possible to play CD`s with MP3 files on it.
You even have a graphic equalizer build into the system with several options (like cathedral and such) to enhance the sound.

A friend of mine will receive his 212 soon now, so I will verify this.

I just mine in The netherlands, for (converted to GB Pounds) 430 Pounds more!
So if you can afford it, I would say, buy the TV right now! :-)

I haven`t got it yet, Hitachi is not regular in Holland, so I had to order and wait about 4 weeks...

I`ll let you know what the quality is like.

BTW, I bought it especially for the build in decoder sound features (as far as I could find on the internet is this the only TV with a build in DTS decoder)

I checked the site and found the way of getting into this menu.
This is exactly he same way I`m setting my (different) regions, but I have paid extra for a region/macrovision free modification chip.
So either this only works when a chip has been installed or I`ve been ripped off!

I will check this way with a "chip less" DVD player to check (and if it works, I`ll make sure I get my money back ;-) )
