RE: Z64 & Nintendo 64

I remember looking for one of these a few years ago when I used my n64 a lot, I`m afraid I dunno the answer but I remember there was an import specialist firm in liverpool that had them.

Try import firms perhaps? Sorry I dunno more

RE: Whats your best game of all time?

Goldeneye and the brilliant Chuckie Egg on the spectrum

RE: Gameboy Advance £49.50

Cheers for this, I didn`t get a GBA mind but FIFA 2002 for 17.95 which is a bargain.

Says it is a freeserve coupon, not that I have anything to do with them, but many thanks to freeserve!!!

RE: Problems Contacting Play247

I think its absolutely disgusting what I am hearing about play247.com, I have lost £38 pounds worth of films. I feel sorry for everyone else who is having trouble as it is not nice to feel let down. Perhaps we should setup a support group - only joking!

It is NOT acceptable by ANY companies standards to ignore customers and not resolve problems.

I would advise caution to others who continue to use play247, even if in the past they have been brilliant - thats exactly what I thought. I knew they were top rate but they have let me down soo badly. Look at the increasing amounts of disgruntled customers

That is not a good sign of any company are play247 going to last much longer?

RE: ONE FOR THE MODERATOR - PLAY 247

Don`t defend them,

What the hell is wrong with having a go if you loose money.

Look I ordered two discs that have not arrived, for 3 weeks I have tried to get A response!!

Do NOT defend a company because "oh" they are having a bad patch! Companies should be on form 24/7 not when they feel like it.

My God if we all think like that we will all be screwed. Individuals can go through a bad patch - but an organisation or company DOES NOT mess customers around and sort out problems WHEN IT feels like it.

Cheers I feel better now,

RE: Problems Contacting Play247

God almighty,

I have tried for over three weeks to get in touch and they just don`t bother. The one response I did get was obviously in response to the title of one of the emails I sent. I have sent five emails because they cut up the address on postage (the labels cut up my address not enough character support) so I am missing 2 films.

I am so disappointed.

RE: Alien Legacy £29.99, Nightmare on Elm Street Box Set £25

Yup there sure is loads in Aberystwyth, I just got one of many let over. What a good bargain although I would prefer the Region 1 set, can`t have everything!

A couple of VCD related sites here

VCD is poorer quality but depends on the films but Star Wars and Back To Future can be found on VCD and it does not degrade like VHS. VCD is useful if you are impatient or want a particular rare title.

RE: X-Men R2 problems?

My X-Men r2 kept crashing my Philips DVD710, I could not for the life of me work out why, on the second boot it seemed to work.

RE: CTHD R1 will be RCE, apparently...

Yeah I got the R3 release with english tracks, but quite frankly in a global economy Columbia were very naive to think that no one would import it!

Anything now released by Columbia will more than likely be RCE, ie Charlies Angels, Hollow Man etc. I believe that the limitations in DVD technology might mean that there will never be an ultimate RCE system mind.

Columbia are owned by SONY(!) pictures hence all this rather annoying RCE lets adhere to standards position they take

RE: Frank Herbert`s Dune, R1 - edited/shorter version?

Best bet is checking out the official site at http://www.scifi.com/dune/

Bear in mind the R2 release is rumoured to have far more extras and more scenes that were edited from the R1 release. So maybe that can account for some difference. Apparently the R2 will be in full DD5.1 and DD2.0 as the R1.

So for once R2 beats R1!

RE: EzyDVD Oz

EzyDVD are quite simply brillant I seriously recomend these guys after having ordered some 6 films off them

Their customer service is spot on and the films take only less than a week to get here, brilliant!

Cool VCD use caution!

Hi I have ordered the Star Wars trilogy and that came through fine no problems within 4 days.

The VCDs were ok, the Empire Strikes back had the best quality picture of three.

However I then tried them again for Episode 1 and I thought I`d get a few more films.

They were Scary Movie, Moll Flanders and Jackie Brown

Scary Movie seems legitimate but the other two don`t they look remarkbly like Hong Kong market silver CDs that I have seen before. Plus my Philips DVD710 won`t play them but my computer will.

Exercise Caution, the star wars films are fine though!

RE: Is there another way to generate infra-red code RC6

You can purchase the one for all 6 remote from Dixons or Curry`s both major chains within the UK. I know this I have just been there!

They should be available on the websites

www.dixons.co.uk

and

www.currys.co.uk

if not try argos.co.uk

All are reputable companies whether they post to Russia, I don`t know.

Hope that helps.

Chipped Automatic Region changing Philips DVD710, can I still manually set to R1?

I`m new to DVD, got loads of R1discs working no problems.

However I had my Philips DVD 710 chipped so it automatically changes region (done before advent of RCE). However with the Patriot and Hollow Man now messing around I am pretty sure this RCE wont work on my automatic changing machine.

So I can manually set the region still using remote hacks, and if so how? Or will the auto changing always kick in and I will have to consider a new player?

I can give details of the firmware version if needed.

Thanks
