Pioneer DV 530 How do I get Region 1

I have just bought a Pioneer DV 530 but when I tried to play my Region 1 copy of X Men it would not accept it . Having read some of the reviews on this forum I thought it was a Multi Region Player . Do I need to do something with the handset or do I need to get it chipped to play Region 1. Can anyone help

Alba DVD 103 or Alba DVD 104

I have experienced prolems with my Alba DVD 103 with its inability to play The Patriot and am considering upgrading to the Alba 104 . I cannot find any reviews on this model . Can any one give any advice please
