RE: Budget DVD player for Newbie owner

The Logix at Richer Sounds is a Daewoo/Scan SC-2000 clone but I believe it is an older version with non-upgradeable F/W. It therefore has the problems experienced by some Scan owners last year.
However, the current Scan machine is working perfectly with the latest V2.14 firmware (available from this forum) and it definetly does everything it says on the tin [and more!]

The Scan SC-2000 DVD player automatically converts NTSC Disks (i.e Region 1) to PAL 50 if you set the menu to PAL !

Another feature that makes the Scan player a bargain - they should advertise the fact more [plus it outputs the PAL signal to your video recorder !)

The DVD player is UK spec, the Audio has defaulted to the following :

Digital Output ; off

AC3 Dyn Rng : on

Dual Mono : stereo

Speaker set up : Downmix on

I`ve tried several times to load the firmware and gone through the process as described in the instructions, everything seems to be all ok except the sound.

I`ll check the audio properties, but probably will not get a chance until 02.02.2001, I`ll mail them then if thats ok
