RE: DTS problem. Marantz DVD, Sherwood amp

Thanks for the help Kevin - I`ll have a look tonight.

I assume the DV3100 is certified - it has the logo on and the bloke at Richer Sounds said it was a DTS player... unless they have just done a slightly dodgy version - does that happen?

I`ll report back tomorrow...

(some time later...)

Right, been off work, hence the delay, but it worked - changing the output to bitstream. Thanks - I`m now enjoying DTS! :)

RE: What TV series would you like to see released on DVD ?

Hmm, my choice...
Babaylon 5
Twin Peaks
(oh and the Bufster - but that`s there already... or coming)

DTS problem. Marantz DVD, Sherwood amp

Hi all, here`s a little problem I`ve been having...

I have a Marantz DV3100 DVD connected with coaxial to a Sherwood 7106 AV Receiver. I can get DD to work fine, but for some reason the DTS just doesn`t seem to work. I have used the Fantasia 2000 disc, with DTS selected from the DVD`s menu, and used both auto and DTS digital input selection on the amp, but all I get are slow clicks (not very loud). I don`t have a subwoofer (yet...), but is this the problem or something else...?

I`m new to this DVD game (had player since Jan), and although the Dolby Digital sound is great I thought I may as well get the DTS working too. One thing that may be stopping me is that I have no subwoofer (will be buying it soon) - would that stop it (and if so shall I just pretend to the amp that I have one?)

Thanks for any help,

Rob
