RE: Aiwa XR-DV525

Whoops,

Apologies people. It was the DW1 hack I tried (Still unconfirmed). I`ve looked at the hack for the `170 hack and I dont think it will work as the 170 has different buttons on the front. I tried to emulate the process by using the menu, onscreen display and setup buttons on the remote but his hasnt worked.

I`ll keep trying

RE: Aiwa XR-DV525

Me again guys.

Since the web site went online, a good bloke called Austin emailed me with the news that the `525 setup menu`s are the same as those for the `170. I have tried the hack for this, but since I have no reg 1 disks in my collection, cannot verify.
It`s all up to you. Try it, if it works great, if not *&^&^%%$£££"

ps keep checking my site for more 525 related bobbins etc....

RE: Aiwa XR-DV525

Heads up guys. I just spent last night building my very first web site, in homage to the `525. Check out the screen shots, and pass the word to anyone who works in Hi-Fi shops and places like that. I cant believe that Aiwa went to the trouble of building a DVD sub-system/Bios combination from scratch, so it must be based on something else eg LG for instance.

Here`s the link. It`s my first go at web design and only took me 4 hours, so go easy on me. If anyone has any other info they would like me to include let me know.

RE: Identifying DVD Setup Menus

OK Clayts, I`ve bitten the bullet. Check out this web site. Only took me like all friday night to build.

And yes, although I might earn loads of cash for running systems like this, it`s my fist time. Treat me gently....

Send your email address to ggarw.ydna[at].ten.enoenil I havent got a web site (OK I`m a philistine) so I`ll have to post the piccys.

Identifying DVD Setup Menus

All,
Is there anyone out there thats good at ID-ing setup menus from original systems. I have some screen shots digitised for the Aiwa XR-DV525. So far Jimbo has been unable to ID the system, and hence provide a hack.
Is anyone capable of usurping the man that brought you the `370 hack.

I think I`ve just laid down the gauntlet..

RE: Aiwa XR-DV525(Need urgent Help Plz)

Join the club mate...
Although this system is excellent value for money, and it seems plenty of folks are acquiring these, info on the original DVD sub-system used to build the unit is virtually zip.
I`ve emailed Jimbo (www.choosefirst.co.uk) with the screen shots of the menu`s, in an attempt to identify the sub-system, but so far he`s drawn a blank. Keep checking this and any other sites for updates.

BTW The kerrang music channel on sky digital, rock`s when piped through the system!!!
Life is loud

RE: Aiwa XR-DV525 owners read this!!!!

I`ll have a look and get back to you.

RE: Aiwa XR-DV525 owners read this!!!!

That remote is definately different to the one I`ve had (I had a system that got sent back) and the one I have now. Both remotes were the same. It may be worth contacting Jimbo thru` his site www.choosefirst.co.uk to see if this is the remote that ships with the `370 dvd. If it is you could try the remote hack for the 370. let us know if this works...
Otherwise contact your supplier.

RE: Aiwa XR-DV525 owners read this!!!!

I`ll check this out when I get home

Aiwa XR-DV525 owners read this!!!!

So that I can work out who to inform about region hacks for this player (if one is possible), reply to this thread. One of the regular subscribers to this site is researching which base player the `525 is cloned from, using some screen shots I supplied him with.
Any news I receive I will distribute accordingly.

(also posted on region hacks forum)

RE: AIWA XRDV525 HACK NEEDED

Ow, thats got to hurt! As far as I know (and I`ve asking for awhile now), there is no software hack. I`ve heard that there`s a chip kit available but havent got the details.

Sorry mate.

RE: Back by popular demand - what players have you all got then ?

Aiwa XR-DV525 region locked [tears], wish I`d seen this site sooner, I`d ave got a 370.

RE: What is the best gun fight/shootout in a movie ever?

The best gunfights?....MMMmm let me see..

Saving Private Ryan. Not the kind of film to see before going on exercise (with the army). Brutally honest and reallistic beyond the pale.

Heat - Robert De Niro and Val kilmer.. One of the most realistic bits of gunfightery I,ve ever seen. No hiding behind cars and dustbins.. the tinkle of empty brass, the echo of gunfire, the slick fire discipline and mag changes, the adrenaline. Oh my....

Anybody got a tissue?

RE: Any news on the Aiwa 290 hack guys?!

Accordingly to jimbo, the 290 and 525 use the same firmware. I guess when we find one we will find the other. Chip fix is available (according to Jimbo, If you read this Jim, email details to the guy that sent u the 525 screen shots).

RE: aiwa xr dv525

Jimbo`s working on it. I`ve heard theres a chip upgrade but this will violate any warrenty you may have.
BTW any relation to Ali?

RE: Wragster help! aiwa 290

Sorry mate, I cant help you. From what I`ve seen on this and other forum sites, the only hack for Aiwa`s at present is the one for the 370. I have the Aiwa Hifi/DVD combo XR-DV525, I`m waiting for Jimbo to ID the base system that this was cloned from to identify which DVD hack will work.
Check out www.choosefirst.co.uk and select the `370 section there may be something you can use there. Otherwise keep asking.

RE: Aiwa XR-DVD525

I have one of these great bits of kit also. I have taken some screen shots of the setup menu and sent them to someone with a great deal of hacking experience - the guy that craked the Aiwa `370 DVD. As yet I am still waiting for a response.
Jimbo If you read this let me know how you`re going on.

Help req`d Aiwa XR-DV525

Recently purchased the above and looking for a hack. Please help. I have tried the hack (unsuccessfully) for the Aiwa DV370. Jimbo are you out there? Please check your guest book.
An apple for the guy that unleashes the power!!!
