I know the manual says do not try to play a Photo CD. But has anyone tried it? What happens?

Region cx lock out on Compaq DVD-ROM DRD8080B

I am using a Compaq DVD-ROM DRD8080B which I believe is the same as the LG DRD8080B.

It gives me a messge that i can only change the region 5 times. Is this in the firmware or software or both?

Is there a way round it?

Will the LG 3350E play CDR VCDs

I am thinking of buying a LG3350E from DABs, when they get some.
I know that I can hack it to enable VCD play but can someone tell me if it will then play CDR VCDs.

Also is this player better than the Daewoo DHC 2200K?
