sanyo dvd-x5

does anyone know a region free hack for this player????

RE: Very simple questions to start me off with DVD

answers;
1, no it cannot, it can be only be connected using one of the two most common methods, either by a `scart` connector or by using s-video. Scart being the better of the two
2, Look for a dvd player that can play audio cd`s the majority can. All depends on budget with regard to sound quality.

hope this helps

Any good

JVC XV522, £150. are these players any good, are they region hackable, picture, sound quality ??
How do they compare against market leaders M5, LG3200, Sammy 511

RE: samsung 511 vs wharfie m5

Clayts,
is the M5 worth the extra £30 in terms of performance against the 511 though. I have a couple of friends who have the 511 and say it is a decent player for money, but i don`t know anyone who has an M5

samsung 511 vs wharfie m5

which one, my budget is £150, unfortunately too late for Tesco`s vat free offer on dvd players
Is there much between the two, should I stick with budget and go for Sammy DVD511 for £150 or is the M5 even more superior (sound/picture quality) and spend xtra £30

plse help me.

RE: which one

thats a great help westy. i think then i`ll plump for the wharfy. love the bits as you do!

which one

Having spent months scoured the shops this is my shortlist of dvds £150 mark. I want to be region free CD-R, VCD, CD.

JVC XM522- approx £150
LG3200e - £130
Wharfedale M5 £153
Minato £110
Samsung 511 £150

pls help.

Help Wanted

I am new to the world of DVD and am looking to purchase my first player. I am looking to spend as little as poss and get as much as I can. About £150. Able to hack for multi region, play cd`s & cd-r`s. My TV is a Sony and has scart and s-video. I`ve heard to go for s-video as it is better quality. LG3200 and 3000e, Phillips, Hitachi and many more. What is the best bet and is cheap generally cheerfull.
