RE: Back by popular demand - what players have you all got then ?
Still choosing. Put me down as a don`t know.
Choices, choices
Hello all
I recently had my first taste of DVD whilst in America, watching `Bedazzled` (not my choice) and was fairly impressed. The player was a Sony DAVS300.
Maybe it was time to go out and buy elctrical stuff.
Then I made a big mistake. I started reading a few mags etc. and became increasingly baffled with all the options available.
I have come close to buying a Cyber-Home 512, Toshiba SD210E, amongst others to go along with maybe a Yamaha VS-10 or Sony HTK-215. Various last minute things have stopped me.
So, what should it be?
I`ve about £500-600 free on my credit card and I want DTS/5.1 (to fill my lounge up with more speakers). All the usual features would be nice, multi-region etc. but I`m sure I could live without one or two.
Any suggestions?
I see richer sounds are doing the DAVS300 for £469 - would I really notice that it wasn`t scart connected?
NTSC/PAL help
Hello all
I`ve decided to buy a DVD player and a Dolby Digital/DTS amp/speakers thing.
I want a multi-region player but am a bit concerned/confused as what happens when you play a region 1 disc.
My TV is a Toshiba `Quadrill` model from a few years ago. In the manual it says that it has a `External Audio/Video input/output - PAL/NTSC (VTR playback)`. Whats all that about then?
Its Scart 1 is `Full 21 pin (RGB, Normal Video, Audio L-R)`
Any help would be appreciated.
Paul
ps. I can`t afford a new TV as well!
