RE: Grainy Picture - Advise

It`s the denon AV F100 it cost about £1200 for the DVD player, amp, receiver. It`s had some good reviews so far.

The problem is not there all the time and may be grainy is the wrong desciption. It`s more like you can see the the individualy pixels when the there is a lot of black on the screen.

The tv is a panasonic 32 pk1 and the dvd is connected direct via an Ixos Gold scart.

Thanks,
Regu.

RE: Grainy Picture - Advise

It`s going straight to the TV. The grainy effect is not there all the time, I`m begining to suspect that it`s down to the DVD`s them selves.

The effect is not so much grainy it more like you can see the individual pixels.

Thanks,
Regu.

RE: Grainy Picture - Advise

Thanks for your response. I think, if I understand you correctly you`re saying that this is an incompatibility issue. I don`t belive there is interference as it`s only on certain scenes. The DVD system I have has had good reviews from the media, the dvd is connect direct to the TV (Panasonic 32 PK1) via an Ixos gold scart. However, the inter-connectors are standard, although I would expect this to effect sound quality I wouldn`t of expected this to make a difference to the picture. All in all I think the hardware is pretty good.

Do you think that upgrading the inter-connectors would improve the picture quality bearing in mind that I`m more that happy with the sound output?

Thanks,
Regu.

Grainy Picture - Advise

I`m new to the world of DVD and have recently bought a Denon AV-F100. My collection of film is still quite small but I`ve been disappointed in the picture quality. When watching films such as Matrix, Seven (twin box set) and X-Men I’ve noticed that the picture takes on a grainy feel when the showing a darker scene. This is quite obvious and detracts from the viewing pleasure. Is this due to the DVD’s or the player?

Can anyone help?
