RE: Toshiba 210E
Hi I`m sorry I don`t know the difference between my player and the 200e.
The Toshiba UK site gives full spec for the 210e.
I bought mine from Leading Edge Concepts for £199 + £10 next day deleivery. Their service so far has been great. Suggest you ring them or Upgrade Heaven who may be able to answer your query.
RE: Toshiba 210E
Hi David
I have had my Toshiba since last Monday. I bought it from Leading Edge.
I replaced a Proline 1000 with it. I am using it with a Philips Widescreen TV and a Sony 930 DTS Dolby Digital receiver.
So far the machine has played every disk I have tried. These include Patriot RCE, Dinosaur Special edition. It even played a Hong Kong version Couching Tiger, which would not play on the Proline without blocking. DTS disks such as Dances With Wolves sound stunning.
Picture quality through SVideo ist as good as I would want.
It also plays MP3`s CDR`s and SVCD`s without fault.
Originaly I thought that it was noisier than it should be, however compared to the Pioneers I have heard, the Philips 711 and the LG3200, all of which I have auditioned, it is almost silent when playing the disk.
I would have no hesitation in recommending both the machine and Leading Edge Concepts
Toshiba SD-210e loading noise
I have just received my Tosh 210e and in general I am really happy with the performance. Even MP3s and SVCD`s play perfectly. Please can any one tell me is it normal for the machine to make whirring noises when loading disks. Once the disk is loaded only a quiet spinning noise can be heard during really quiet times. Is it normal for some disks to make a louder spinning noise when playimg than others.
Sorry if this sounds neurotic, but I would be grateful if other owners can let me know if this is normal and doesn`t mean the machine is going to pack up!!!!
