RE: Kodak digital camera worth £300 for £100 PLUS loads of accessories

I sent an official letter a about two weeks ago to the Kodak leagal department and to the chairman using the letter posted by Dan B. I requested 14 days for their reply. Yesterday I recieved a reply from Kodak and have copied the letter out for you all to read. I wonder whether anybody else had recieved a similar reply and if so what they planned to do in turn. The letter is as follows:

Thank you for contacting Kodak. We hope that the following will help answer the points in your letter.

Clearly, we are sorry that you are not happy with the way we have been handling this matter.

As we indicated before, all orders placed from our website legally constitute offers to purchase from us. As such we are entitled to accept or reject offers from customers. You may recall that when you entered your credit card details you were prompted to view the terms and conditions. By placing an order on our website you are agreeing to be bound by our terms and conditions which clearly state that in exceptional circumstances we reserve the right to limit quantities of goods we supply; to alter any of the terms and conditions on which we do business and on which we supply products to you, including the prices; to alter the availability and duration of, and to terminate at any time, any special offers. It further goes on to state that we will not deduct any sums from your credit card unless, or to the extent, we are able to deliver the product to you.

The email we sent you after you placed you order was merely an acknowledgement of receipt of your order and not of acceptance. This acknowledgement is part of an automated system as it is common industry practice. It is not a contract. We declined to accept your offer to purchase the DX3700 camera collection at the incorrect price of £100 and as a result we did not process your order any further, and therefore did not deduct any money from your credit card.

Once again we do apologise for any inconvenience to you arising from this error and any disappointment caused. Kodak is naturally very embarrassed by the whole incident and as you know, as a gesture of goodwill, is offering 10% off your next order at the pohS[at]kadoK website (for orders placed before 31 January 2002). I have heard that it is available for 11.99 at www.under18.org.uk but that is upto 13.99 now. Is that the cheapest it gets?

Also is under18s kosha or not?

Its True, Richer sounds does rock and i have tonnes of stuff from the guildford branch were i choosea different drink from their free dispenser every time i go there.

My only problem with them is they often dont have stuff in stock, especially small stuff like MD Players. Also Ive noticed that alot of companies are lowering their prices almost as low as RS but not enough for me to go elsewhere.

Some people like in comet say that they wont price match RS`s stuff cos it is grey imports but it isnt, its just imported from France. They put English plugs on there appliances at least unlike some internet sites that import goods aswell.
