Anyone else ordered Friends boxsets of Amazon UK?
I ask becuase they`re doing a special offer: buy two boxsets at a discounted price. For me, this worked out at £19.99 per set so I ordered seasons 1-6. As a side note, I also got free delivery offer they`re doing at the moment.
Here`s where the problem starts: After making the order at the beginning of the month, I was given an estimated delivery (2 weeks), and once the time was up I recieved an email from Amazon saying that ALL the DVDs were out of stock and so they were awaiting a new delivery which would set me back another week or so. So I patiently waited for another week and now lo I have recieved another email, this time stating that: "Warner Home Video have advised us that they have temporarily run out of stock on all Friends DVD box sets . They currently expect to receive product by the end of December." They kindly gave me a £5 off voucher for my troubles.
Well the whole point of this was is whether:
a) Amazon UK is now aware of just how cheap they`re Friends boxsets are and are stalling the order
b) Warner is genuinely out of stock and Warner Home Video trully have run out of stock of ALL Friends DVDs even though many other online stores are still offering the Friends boxset DVDs but at their regular high prices.
I`ll give them the benefit of the doubt but has anyone else ordered these Friends boxset DVDs from them and what has their order delivery time been and whether or not they have received them as of yet or under the same predicament as me?

Just wondering, has anyone here used ZooDirect (i.e. are they legit?) as I wanted to get a hold of Star Wars Trilogy and as of yet have not found any online store in the UK that I would trust?

Just wondering if anybody has bought any DVDs from http://www.dc-dvd.net and if so, what their experience/s were because I`m after a particular DVD; Batman: Mask of Phantasm and only these guys appear to stock it (I`ve tried Future Ent and Play with no luck)?

I ordered Superman Special Edition from them and I recieved my order two weeks later. Every time I contacted them they politely replied with information about my order. I didn`t have any trouble with them.

There are indeed a number of methods you can use to play multi-region DVDs on the PS2.
1. A mod-chip which apparently allows you to play DVDs from any region (1-6) as well as RCE DVDs. This can be found at www.playstationmods.com and is just under £20.
2. "An Asian firm has released a new peripheral for PlayStation 2 called All Code DVD Card, which allows PS2 users to play DVD movies from all regions. There are two versions of the DVD Card, one is for PS2 model SCPH-10000 to 15000, another one is for SCPH18000 - 30000. The package comes with a special Memory Card and CD software to bypass the DVD movie lockout protections." Find a picture at www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Castle/5534/game053001.htm
3. The final option is at www.d3world.com where they have the Region X. This costs £19.99 and allows you to play Pal Region 2 (UK) and NTSC region 1 (US) DVDs using a disc swapping method.
The first option is the most risky but also possibly the most rewarding as it allows you to play any DVD no matter the reigion and whether or not it`s RCE. But it`s a question of whether it really works or not and how reliable it is i.e. will it mess up the insides of your PS2 should you install it.
The second option sounds enticing but I haven`t seen it stocked at any retailers so whether or not it is released is debatable. The third option is the best at the moment. It is most certainly going to be released at the end of June and is at a not too high price. The real question is whether or not it will allow you to play RCE discs and the answer is almost certainly not.
One more bit of info, I`m not sure how the Region X device works as the PS2 does not allow RGB Scart playback which would technically mean that NTSC Region 1 DVDs would not be playable. I may however be wrong.
