RE: phillips 751 dvd

What I meant was that I didn`t consider it a remote hack since it`s pretty advanced (you need a programmable remote control or a PDA).

It is a remote hack (I`ve done it myself), but it takes some what more that remote hacking, let`s say, a Samsung.

All credit to you, Allan, for making this remote hack available to all of us Philips DVD owners, but I hope you get my point!

RE: phillips 751 dvd

Hi,

I have the Philips 751 and there is no remote hack for it, but you can find a "do-it-yourself" hack on this site.

I`ve had some trouble with my 751. It`s now beeing repaired for the second time and it`s almost the same thing this time as the last. I think that you can be lucky and have almost no problems at all, or you can get a player that makes your life somewhat a living hell.

I`m going to sell my 751 now, since I`m tired of all the trouble with it (I will tell the buyer about the problems, if anyone`s wondering).

Quality when watching R1 DVDs on Samsung SV-DVD1E

Hello everybody,

I`m new here and am thinking about buying a new DVD player (I have a Philips 751 today, which sucks most of the time) and have my eyes set on the Samsung SV-DVD1E. I think it would be nice to have one machine less, and Samsung is great since hacking them are so easy.

Anyhow, I read on Samsung`s home page that the R2 version of the SV-DVD1E only outputs PAL when playing DVDs. That made me wonder what happens when you hack it and play R1 NTSC DVDs? How`s the quality?

Would be happy if someone could help me out.

Regards,
