Blockbuster Bargains!

rommel (Competent) posted this on Wednesday, 24th July 2002, 17:03

Wandered into my local Blockbuster today and was checking out their ex-rental DVDs. They had about 20 copies each of Moulin Rouge (2 Disc), Planet of the Apes (2 Disc), American Pie 2, Final Fantasy (2 disc), Fast and the Furious, Ali, Jurassic Park III and loads, loads more all at £9.99. No big deal, you might say, but according to the guy behind the counter, many of them have never been played and sure enough, the boxes, inserts and discs looked like new.

The best bit is that if you buy two, you get a third free, making it £6.66 per DVD. Sounds like a bargain to me....

This has been posted before, I have bought loads of ex-rental dvd`s from blockbuster and global.

Stay away from Rental Versions though, they are high priced with very few features.

You say `sure enough, the boxes, inserts and discs looked like new`.

The discs are the only thing that is given with a rental, the boxes and inserts are stored away and not used, the discs are generally in good nick though and you do get a 12 month guarantee with them.

a lot of the RENTAL versions are the same as the RETAIL ones, you just have to check back of the cases to see which ones have all the features.

Be patient as well, a lot that start off at £17.99 and £14.99 eventually hit £9.99 and they have loads of copies so you can afford to wait.

Cheers,
Mike.
