Page 1 of Dansai 1010 for £69.99, plays everything inc vinyl :), (macro/region free)

I mean`t to post this a couple of weeks ago :(

but I bought a Dansai 1010 from Tesco`s Extra for £89.99 which I thought wasn`t bad but they are now £69.99

It plays everything u can throw at it

DVD,DVD-R/RW,DVD+R,MP3,VCD,SVCD,CD etc etc

also region free and macrovision free with some simple hacking

some reviews from people who have bought one, only a few disgruntled people but all have posted low scores cos they haven`t enabled VCD/SVCD. That`s all they winge about but its so easy to do and I will email necessary info to people if they buy one and want it, just ask

I went to buy another one for my mother for XMAS and it was reduced to £79.99 but after paying bill which included £30 worth of shopping my total was only £99

They had charged me £69.99 so I was well pleased

I told my mates at work and they also have bought them for £69.99

probably gone by now but then again I don`t know

I bought one 2 weeks ago for £69.99. Phoned Tesco for the update disc to enable VCD playback which came a week later. Then you can disable macrovision as well as bypass the Region codes. For the money, I can hardly fault it, except for not having a display and the Tesco Help screen. For the man (or woman) in the street its a bargain that does everything you could possibly need. Best be quick though, 2 weeks ago they had 20-30 in the Tesco store near me, this week none. Replaced by the new Dansai (950 I think) with the free DVD`s in the box.

Our local Tesco has both the Dansai 1010 and the 950 in stock. Is the 950 able to be made region and macro free?

Region free out the box and according to other DVD hacking sites this model is also macro free with a Daewoo player hack, how true this is I dont know?

It`s the new Dansai 955. I got one the other week as a replacement for my 852, very good player, seems to play everything up to now. Easily remote hacked to multi region, but no option to turn off Macrovision but I`m not bothered about that anyway. It`s nice looking that the 852 too. Someone on here said its the same as the Schneider 955 Asda were doing before...it does look the same from pics I`ve seen in the hacks section.

It worked out ok, my 852 stuck at the startup screen and wouldnt eject the drawer, it just seemed to have crashed or something. I took it back to Tesco (had it 11 months) and got a refund and bought the 955 complete with 3 dvd`s for the same price I paid for the 852, and got a new years warranty too.....can`t be bad.

I think the 955 has just been dropped to £89.99 too recently from £99.99. I heard the 1010 was being sold off for £69.99 as it`s an older model now, the 955 being the current one. They do seem to change models quite regular in there.

Ive tryed afew Daewoo hacks and got nowhere. Someone`s having a laugh I think!
