PS2 Package at Argos

The G Man (Elite) posted this on Monday, 6th October 2003, 20:21

OK , here`s the deal. As I`m sure you are all aware , Sony have cut the SRP of the PS2 to £139. All the stores have the PS2 with a package sweetener of some sort (free game , extra controller , etc).
The Argos deal is buy the PS2 for £138.75 and get a free steering wheel and extra contoller - not bad so far.
Another Argos deal is when you buy the PS2 , for an extra £10 you can get the Eye Toy (rrp £39.99) and another game from a choice of six (rrp £19.99) - also not bad.
The good part is that it would seem that the 2 offers can be combined - well they certainly were when I got them today - so for the princely sum of £148.75 you get the PS2 , extra controller , steering wheel , eye toy and a `Platinum` game.
Very nice and if like me you don`t really want the eye toy , knock it out quickly on Ebay for £25 - £30 and you have a very cheap PS2 package (if you don`t want a steering wheel - knock that out aswell and cut the price even more).
I can`t guarantee that the two offers will always combine , but they did for me. I`m pretty certain that it is valid and wasn`t just a fluke.
I got this as a bit of early christmas shopping for my son , so won`t actually get it set up until 25/12 , but it is the latest version of the console with improved drivers for DVD+R-W (whatever) and built in IR Receiver (see my other question in `Consoles` :) )
These offers close on 31/10/03

Got mine instore but reserved it over the internet , just add all the items to your basket ( steering wheel and controller will add automatically ) then when you get to checkout you can click to collect from a store and you will get a reservation no. quote that no. at the shop and your sorted, had to try all the local stores though as the eye toy was out of stock in 7 out of the 8 I tried .

OK - found out how to do it - but Eye Toy is out of stock at my nine local stores.

Peter

Sort of it`s 8 all within a 30 minute drive , when you do a stock check / store finder they list your nearest stores . :/

Now if only they would allow me to put in for the silver PS2. I`m prepared to pay the extra £15, but the website doesn`t allow it. If I order a black one, do u think i could then take it back and say I`ll pay the difference for the silver one?
