RE: DVD Player £ 37.99 from Aldi
Why do you say it`s bad? Can you give a pointer to published info?
RE: DVD Player £ 37.99 from Aldi
I have been looking to see if this plays vcd`s the spec does look good. What is the reason for this being a bad player and are the previous players of this make any good.
Many thanks in anyone can help.

Mugumsy,
You may well be correct in your assertion, but common courtesy dictates that when you make these kind of statements you MUST quantify them
.
Why is it a bad player ?
How do you know it is bad quality ( it will be the first from Aldi if it is ! )

is it multi region?? is there a region hack for this?? thanks...
Anyone got any news on this player, please. Looking to get one for my daughters bedroom, need to know for thursday morning, thanks.
RE: DVD Player £ 37.99 from Aldi
i wouldnt i dont really think its worth getting cheap players like these any more, especially when you can get branded players like the tosh 220e/330e for not much more but suppose its up to the individual
RE: DVD Player £ 37.99 from Aldi
guys,
if you play with fire you will get burnt. for an extra £30 you could buy a decent DVD player that has quality built into the product with certified people builing the product.
what you are probably buying is parts that have been thrown together in a back garage with someone getting payed the same for a week as we make in an hour.
I`m not saying that the big electronics manufacturers don`t use the poorer countries for cheap labour, bt it can be assured that these companies will have invested more time/money in the critical processes that are used in the manufacture of the product thus providing a better quality product.
mugumsy...
Mugumsay,
" parts that have been thrown together in a back garage "
Once again you post a lot of pony without evidence or justification, if you have proof share it with us rather than self opinionated waffle. Facts Please !
As I posted this thread in the first place, I have done a liitle research for anyone who is interested.
The machine is actually a Medion / Tevion which would appear to be multiregion from this ( poorly :) ) translated info :
Tevion 2001 - taking you a possibly inserted DVD out of the drive - pressing you the key menu - pressing you after each other ever
once on the keys 1, 6 and 7 - pressing you subsequently on courage after that the text "CODE 1-6 appears ALL". The Players is now
free for all codes.
Tevion 2002 - taking you a possibly inserted DVD out of the drive - pressing you the key Menu - pressing you
the keys 1, 6, 7 - giving you the desired countries code a (1-6; 0=codefree)
Tevion 2003 - pressing you the key menu - pressing you on the key arrow below - typing you the countries code
between 1 and 6 or that 0 for Codefree a - pressing you the keys courage, rebounding and Vorwärtsspringen -
pressing you once again the key courage - turning you the device from and again on
The great thing with this is that if you buy the player and it dosn`t do what you want, or isn`t multi region, take it back for a refund, Aldi have a no quibble returns policy.
This may or may not be the best machine under £ 100.00 available but it will cost you very little to find out.
Cheers
