Cheapest price for a 106 Pioneer DVDR ?
Come on folks, where is the cheapest place to buy a bare OEM Pioneer 106 DVDR at the moment (preferably somewhere WITH stock !)
BigPockets seem to be at 89.99 (inc VAT, but exc. delivery), while Ebuyer is 91.05 all in. Can anyone top those ?

TBH if I was thinking of buying a DVD-RW I would probably hold back for a two months. Pioneer are ready to launch their 8 X multi-format drives in the near future and others apparently have 8 X multi-format drives on sale at present. I know that is not the answer you wanted but as an example I think of when I bought my 4 X CD-RW , within a month or so the speed of copiers had doubled and I felt really pished off .

Yeah, I know that, but I`m in the bargain basement here, and the higher speed/density recorders will be charged at a premium for quite some time...

dont forget the dual layer burners too !!
I have a date with destiny,,,, and i intend to keep it.
RE: Cheapest price for a 106 Pioneer DVDR ?
I ordered the Pioneer A06 DVD+-RW drive last week and it`s arriving tomorrow - got it from Ebuyer for the 91 quid the original poster mentioned. Yes, the A07 is out in January, but will be more expensive and require pricier blank media as someone else said.
The next DVD writer you *really* want is actually not higher speed, but dual-layer, which are due next year also (with even more expensive media than ever I bet !). I think the A06 will do me for the next couple of years until both dual-layer drives and the media drop in price to below the "magic" 100 quid and 3 quid price points respectively. 8.8GB capacity and 8x re-writing speed - until that happens cheaply, you may as well go for a near-end-of-line Pioneer like I`ve done.
RE: Cheapest price for a 106 Pioneer DVDR ?
Neogames in Stoke have them for £85 inc vat http://www.neogames.co.uk
and postage is now cheaper check them out.
Lets not forget that 2 weeks back several companies stated that they had made 16speed media and fully tested it, and announced it would be available middle of next year probably about a tenner a disc, But if the media is there what are the odds that the 16speed dvdr will be there?
When the 16speed comes out the 8 speed will plummit in price worth hanging on a couple of months me thinks because a 2-4 speed will seem so dated when the 16 speed is available.

I still always burn at 1x though for most things, just because I barely ever get any coasters that way and it works particularly good for backing up games.
