Can you tell me if this is multi region (or hackable).

Since I own a wide selection of both U.S and UK DVDs the last thing I whant is to find I can only use half of them

A little investigation shows that this system is costs nearly £120 at Morgancomputing.

However Dabs have a Dabs Value model with the same manufacture code (P8A5)
See here. Although the speakers look different (N.B. Dabs state "Image for illustrative purposes only") it is almost certainly the same model as the link they give for the region hack/firmware update is for Ronin models (seens AMW and Ronin are the same). The Dabs price is £81.50 + delivery.

Standard delivery is £5.49. There are other options: a super saver which is slightly cheaper but takes a couple of days longer, and a priority delivery which is more but quicker. N.B. £5.49 is for deliverys upto 5Kg, I see that £5.99 covers deliverys up to 20Kg so if there`s any other stuff on ebuyer that takes your fancy you could get quite a lot for little or no extra delivery cost.

I`ve brought computer equipement from ebuyer for a few years now and found them to be quick and competitively priced.

The site for the multiregion hack is http://roninhacks.shacknet.nu/
They say "Due to variants of components used in this DVD player there are a few possible hacks. Please try the handset hacks listed below first. If these do not work then you will need to upgrade the firmware. Make sure you follow the hacks TO THE LETTER and double check the remote hacks before applying for the firmware."
There`s 2 handset hacks if those don`t work you have to buy a firmware update these cost "Firmware upgrade - £4.75 (inc. postage & packing) for UK"

I wonder if they lowered it after I submitted a comment on the product yesurday afternoon??
Still, with at least one happy customer giving it 5 stars it looks like at £65 it`s still a bargain!
:)

it`s back to £58.74 inc VAT again! And now there`s 8 mostly very positive reviews. The remote may be a worry (not very robust) but that seems pretty common with budget players unfortunately.
