Bargain Buckets Forum
Just got a joke of an offer from British Gas:
"Fix the price of your gas until 2007"
The catch?
"Pay a small price protection payment of 3.5%"
So that means they get you to pay a price hike NOW rather than later. That gave me a good chuckle this morning.
RE: Joke of a British Gas offer
Yeah , I got this one too.
Especially good as they have already said that they are not planning any price rises `for the foreseeable future` (having already put the price up 2 or 3 time in the last year).
Luckily , I have just got a new paper shredder and it needed feeding ;)
Yes , we know this ain`t a bargain :o
RE: Joke of a British Gas offer
They used to have these in Chicago in the 1920s
They were called protection rackets.

British Gas are a bunch of money grabbing B[at].sdrats The amount of profit they make yet they feel they have to raise all our bills. The amount of errors they make on our bills without telling any of us is also a complete joke.
RE: Joke of a British Gas offer
They tried to charge me £2,700 for a combi boiler. If I handed over the dosh there aand then, they`d knock off £100.
Local fitter did the job for under £1,000
Hmmmm,
RE: Joke of a British Gas offer
I changed from British Gas to Scottish Power in September only to discover last week that British Gas were still taking direct debits out of my bank account. On questioning them they said they had only just received the final readings from Scottish Power and a cheque would be sent out for £290 to me. Very odd seeing as I had final statements in September from them. I dropped British Gas because a) despite supplying both gas and electricty they have 2 direct debits - Scottish Power have just the one b) they always estimated one of the readings despite the fact I knew both readings were taken as I nabbed the meter reader one day to make sure he had both. When I cancelled they wrote to me pointing out that one of the benefits of British Gas was that they had meter readings at least every 6 months! I never had one in 2 years... so blatant lies there With Scottish Power you can input your readings online as often as you like.
Anyway - good riddance!
