This was spotted on rpoints but I don`t thinks the link is a referal or associate one

Change the warranty to 1 year Collect & Return.

Upgrading the memory (256MB) should be simple but apparently the case maybe small to add a second hard drive so choosing to upgrad (from 40Gb) to 80 Gb might be worth the £30). There`s a bit more discussion of the options on rpoints.com if you`re interested.

Dell Dimension 3000 £328 del 2.66ghz 80gb 512mb 17" TFT

also available from Dell... from the rpoints site

I want an honest opinion from somebody in the know, which is going to be the better system?

I wiould have to upgrade one system to include cdrw/dvd drive, but that includes a tft!
but it also states no modem...
i have blueyonder box for broadband so do i need a modem?
also is it worth the extra £39 to have pre-install of software... how difficult is it to install?

HELP... :/

in a desktop system i`d avoid celeron cpu`s, mainly because they are the budget range, but at this price i don`t think you can go wrong, may struggle on cpu heavy stuff like games tho.

If the Blueyonder box plugs into a modem then you will need a modem but if its USB you won`t i am thinking.

Hope that makes sense,
Ryan

If i remember right, the blueyonder (cable) modems plug into a network card, so you wont need a modem.

The newer Blueyonder cable modems are both ethernet and USB. Ethernet is the way to go though.
