Come on peeps, what are your views on this? I`ve been wanting a small mp3 player for ages but was looking at the Zen micro rather than the ipod mini (and my mum gets discount at JL to boot!)

It`d be perfect to get this now as I`m off on holiday in a couple of weeks. Are there still problems with battery life or are these ok (I`d probably use it mainly in the office running off mains). I`ve heard that there maybe a frimware upgrade or something to improve the battery life but that might have been for its big brother

I`d personally go for the revised iPod mini (with 18hour battery life). The `old` ones really don`t last that long.

Whats the difference between these and `revised` iPod minis?

I`ve got an iPod mini, as has my brother and my girlfriend. All of us give it the big thumbs up - its an excellent piece of kit and far more worthwhile to me than a bigger iPod. 8)

Oh my God, Bear is driving! How can that be?

just my 2 peneth ;) but i went for the archos XS200, £169.99 20gig drive smaller than the i-pod mini & the zen 10 hour battery life + as well as supporting standard playlists you can also use i-tunes playlists & the unit is completely plug & play in XP, it just see`s it as an external hard drive & you drag & drop the files in, easy peasy :D

Went out and got one yesterday morning. Now using it for the first time and am very impressed (concious of the fact that the white earphones are a mugging target I`m using some old neckband headphones!)

Now to test the battery life

Hi,

Well I was all set to get a 20GB ipod until I saw an ARCHOS Gmini400 at my local
computer store. It`s also 20GB and plays MP3 and WMA files but it will also show photos
and play Divx and Xvid video on its 2.2 inch hi res colour screen. Software is on the unit to
convert downloaded Divx files to MP4 video with Mp3 audio and you can download a free
program called Flask Mpeg to convert your DVD`s to it too!

I`ve had one about 2 weeks and it blows the ipod out of the water!

Avoid the old mini, the new ones are cheaper and have much better battery life!
