BT are now offering a massive 2Mb Broadband connection for home users, for the price of 1Mb. At only £24.99 with free modem and free connection this is an offer not to be missed!

not that cheap really

I am currently with plusnet and paying £21.99 per month for unlimited 512 broadband

not that brill at the moment i know....but....

in april every braodband customer will get the maximum theior line is capable of for NO extra, so hopefully 8mbps from april for me, thats a WHOPPING 160 times faster than dial up

bring it on.............

Bah humbug! I am on a 512k connection with no possibility of an upgrade as I live 6 miles from the exchange that my phone is plugged into but the nearest exchange is only 2 miles away and they are offering 2mb for anyone plugged into that

BT is planning to move to capacity based-charging, hence all the suppliers having speed upgraded. I`d rather have an unmetered internet service TBH.

Yeah, I was on the BT 1Meg, and they have just upgraded me to 2 Meg, but they are now enforcing a 30Gb a month cap, after that your connection drops to 150k until the end of the month, or until you pay £2 per gig of extra transfer.
Fortunatly I am planning to move house soon, and there is no way that I am going to resign up with BT, I think probably bulldog at the moment!

Does the usage allowance include what you upload too?

Oh my God, Bear is driving! How can that be?

with plusnet the only caps are fdownload

and on the 2mps serbice for 21.99 you are restricted to 30gig per month peak time and 230gig per month off peak

should be more than plenty for most

Pipex 1Mb now £23.44 - only cap is on newsgroups = 10Gb, otherwise unlimited.

On BT that 30Gb quota is on everything! Uploads, downloads, all the malicious port scanning that bounces off my firewall! I have raised that as a question with BT - that I refuse to pay for the port scanning etc, lets see what they say!

Pipex have just told me they are upgrading me from 512 to 1mb for free with no caps :)
