DVD Recorder £79.97 at Tesco
Saw this deal in my local Tesco`s at £79.97. I`ve done a search for the make and model on the net, but drew a blank. went back to Tesco to double check the model number, and i` got it right, i`m not going mad.
It`s an Alba RDVD-1002 (100% on model number, checked it twice!!! :D ), looks like a limited offer, reduced from £89.97.
Good deal? or pile of kac?
Looks like a new model but I doubt it`s very different to this Alba - RDVD1001 at Argos

I don`t have one myself so I can`t offer any opinions on it but it seems very basic. I wouldn`t expect much else at the price.
RE: DVD Recorder £79.97 at Tesco
My Father-in-law picked one up. From what I`ve seen, I`m somewhat impressed. Both picture record quality and the intuitive menu system is actually better than my Philips machine.
It has basic editing features (i.e. the ability to hide chapters) and a pretty decent TV tuner. True, does lack some features such as videoplus and DV input but for it`s price, I quite like it. It has camcorder inputs at the front (including S-Video) and suits him perfectly.
Comes with scart lead, composite phono lead, RGB phono lead, and blank +RW disc.
If, like me, you are the sort of person who is likely to do your advanced editing on your PC anyway - it`s definitely worth a look. Tesco are pretty good with returns anyway. Worth roadtesting if nothing else 8)
It sounds a lot like the one comet were doing cheap at the start of the year
