Woolworth`s are selling a rechargeable 12v battery pack with heated blanket for £9.99. It was orginally £60 !!. The pack can be used to run any item which can be run from a car cigarette lighter (lights, air pumps, portable DVD players etc) and can be recharged from mains or car cigarette lighter. It can alos be used as additional power for weak (but not flat) battery to start it.

Not quite the same but Robert Dyas are selling a portable car "jump starter" for £24.99 according to their web site, not a bad price as it includes a compressor and torch etc. My local store has yet to have any delivered, hopefully they will before the cold nights set in :/
