Page 1 of HP EasyDVD EDR2001 DVD Recorder DIVX & USB £79

Been trying to find a decent DVD Player with Divx and USB port to plug an external HD into.
Given that search up and have started to look at recorders now. I have seen the Tesco Technika for £69 and gather this is a rebadged Umax yamada 8400x, but have seen the HP EDR 2001 in Curry`s for £79 which is Divx certified and says will play external HD on USB. Anybody have any luck in getting this to work ?

I have found that it uses the LSi Logic chipset, is this better or worse than the Mediatek chipset.
Can`t find any reviews so would appreciate any advice.

I don`t own one of these, but your plea for help is fairly similar to what I`m looking for just now, so I had a quick Google (I locked the door so as to not be disturbed ;) )...
