Still not bad package, I pay £21.99 a month just now anyway. I would want a static IP so would have to take business package which is slightly dearer than what I`m on now, but not a bad deal.

Currently seriously hacked off re my maxdsl running at 128k! Plusnet ignore all my pleas to go back to a fixed speed line and are now sending a BT engineer I didn`t ask for to the house...moan, sniffle, whine I should be in the hardware forum, I know.

Don`t be too hard on Plusnet - BT own (and control) the wires. Most ISP`s are reluctant to send BT engineers out, and they may be able to help - mine did.

My problem with Plusnet is that their website says its possible to be put back to my old fixed speed connection, but they have consistently ignored my requests for them to do so.

BUT... BT man came, said internal wiring wasn`t really their prob, then spent 3 hours testing, then installed a master socket I didn`t have one, victorian house) then installed a micro filetr behind it and a dedicated adsl extension from behind that, eliminating the need for any filters in the house. Only thing he didn`t do was cable clip line to skirting in my study :)

My router is reportinf line speed of about 3 meg now, Plusnet speedtest shows the line has now speeded up, although it`s still not fast enough, hiowever it looks like it may speed up again in 3 days, fingers crossed. Need a fast line to catch up with Heroes and Veronica Mars.

I`m not excusing their responses (lack of) - just indicating that others are often worse!

FWIW, BT are on the point of buying Plusnet. Not sure how good that is...

BT buying Plusnet, OMFG no, please don`t let that be true.

So many frineds and clients have been given dreaful service (well, actually none for weeks normally) by them. Mind you Sky seem worse, one friend has been without internet now for 7 weeks, transferring from BT to Sky.
