They are selling a 32x12x40 Lite on CD writer for only £45.96, with VAT and delivery it works out to only £57.50.

This is the cheapest that I have found one at this spec, if anyone knows of one cheaper then please post as I will not be purchasing it for a couple of days.
Also has anyone used this company before, or know if lite on cd writers are any good?

Haven`t used that company, but I do have that CD Rewriter and have no problems with it all. Did some research before I got it and it is up there with the best of the rest. My only problem is that I can`t find any 12x CDRW to use the full speed of the rewriter. Burns all my 24x CDR`s (and some of my older 16x) at 24 speed. I got mine from www.ebuyer.com and they now have it for £43.99 + VAT, but their delivery is £5.99 which would make it more expensive. However if you need to buy anything else they do free delivery over £100. When I got mine also bought some blank CD`s, which are also very cheap. Hope that helps.

Saw one in my dabs (http://www,dabs,com) catalogue, I think it is an 8x writer, but it is selling for 33 quid inc VAT.

Would buy it, but am holding off for an external USB version later in the year.

bough the liteon writer @ my local computer fair yesterday £45 32x12x40 good bit of kit for the price cant belive how cheap things r getting lately

Lite-on DVD`s and Re-Writers are used in most of the Dell pcs.

I would warn anyone against using this company. I ordered the 24x Liteon two months ago and it never turned up. They were very slow to answer emails and when they finally said they would send a replacement unit, it also failed to show. They never answered any more emails so I had to refer it to my credit card company.

I would be VERY cautious when considering purchasing anything from these people. THere postal address is a house in Fishponds in Bristol, which just happens to be the city of my residence. If I have no joy with the refund I might have to pay them a visit...

Dabs have got the 24 speed Lite on CDRW for £51. Not much different in spec and sounds a more reliable firm.

Do you have a website for them?

I`m also from Bristol and used to live in Fishpond I`ve dealt with him, but in person not by mail. He has all his stuff in his garage and a lot of his gear is graded stock.

They do it here for £59.95 delivered with next day delivery by 12pm!! Also do 40 speed for another £8!
