when you buy vcd,s from coolashop etc. they have region no,s next to the titles is this relevent or do they play on any dvd player that plays vcd,s
VCDs aren`t region coded, so yes, they play on any DVD player that plays VCDs. Any mention of region codes in connection with VCDs is totally irrelevant.
However, I`ve had a look at the Coolashop site and they don`t make any reference to region codes on the VCD listings - are you sure you`re not getting it mixed up with something else?

thanks for the help im probably wrong do you know if they are very good quality as they seem a cheap alt to dvd,s
They`re pretty reasonable value in many cases; obviously they`re not up to DVD quality, but at those prices (I think Coolashop have had stuff like "Battle Royale" & "The Isle" for a couple of US$ each) you can`t really go wrong. It`s a good way to catch up with stuff you haven`t seen (or are maybe thinking about getting on DVD but don`t want to spend £££). On the whole, original VCDs are pretty good quality - the last few I`ve watched - "Shaolin Soccer", "Battle Royale", "Donnie Darko" & "Spirited Away" - have all been fine. Nice and compact and easy to store, too.
Dazza.
