Page 1 of Taking screenshots from DVD`s on PC`s

Right, I`m doing a presentation on "Pulp Fiction" for my Media Course, and so want to take shots from the film from the DVD. Only problem is I haven`t been successful doing it. I`ve tried the old cut `n` paste onto Microsoft Paint but it doesn`t work properly (will take too long to explain why).

I desperately need help here, can someone point me in the right direction for some software or some tips on how to do it? Basically I want to have a handout where there are about 6 screenshots printed on it. Please help me someone!

The key is the software you are using to run the DVDs. What`s it called?

Its WinDVD, haven`t tried PowerDVD yet. What do u recommend?

powerdvd is fantastic for taking screenshots...use that.

If you have WinDVD, pause the dvd at the scene you want and press `P`

In the folder (with C: being your hard Drive)

c:Program FilesInterVideoWinDVDCapture

will be the caps you just took. You can move these to a more accessible folder for convenience. The caps will be mis-shaped (no borders) but they can be easily re-shaped when you enter them into your document

WHy the hell does this not work for me with the EXACT same software and following the instructions to a letter?

Also i did a search of my HD to see if the pics were hiding anywhere but guess what....

NO!

try running a general windows search for `capture` (the folder is only created after you have taken at least 1 screenshot) you want a command line that`s thru either `Intervideo` or `winDVD`

for some reason, the backslashes arent showing up, so use the following command line, but replace the `@` with backslashes (the slash beside the `Z` key) this is probably why the last command line I gave didn`t work. sorry.

Nope - still doesnt work. Maybe ma computers cack!

When running Power DVD, press "C" to take a screenshot.

Try going into the Configuration and then I think its "Advanced" you click on next. Change it to "save to file" and then change it to desktop. Start up your film, press "C" and then take a look to see if its worked.

p.s. Pressing "P" on WinDVD didn`t work for me!
