Under Siege R2 Problem

MikeS (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 31st December 2000, 15:07

Had Under Siege R2 for xmas but the disc will not play. Has anyone had the same probs. Tested on the following:-

Wharfedale - Player freezes
Encore PC-DVD - Crashs PC
Panasonic A350 - Get message "Can not play discs of this type" ????
Pioneer ??? - Cannot read the disc.

Me thinks there is something wrong with the disc. Can not see any surface defects.

Michael.

Yes I know what your problem is.

This is an abysmally crap film, and none of these players want to lower themselves to play it.

Hope this helps!

Please ignore Le Borne, the childish buffoon.

Your problem is probably down to the "eggs in mothers hair net" setting on the respective players. Try going into setup and select the eggs in mothers hair net menu. Now scroll down til you see "under seige 2" and press select.

What you`ve actually done in technical terms is allowed the holes in your mothers hair net to constrain their proportions when increasing in size. This will stop chimps from stealing them right out from under your mothers nose and subsequetly allow you to watch Steven Segal take another step towards being a budda in the mid nintey`s action thriller of the same name.

If this doesn`t work you must have a faulty disc.

??

But seriously, I had this problem with Home Alone 2 when I tried it on a Tosh SD100E and a Aiwa 370. It wouldn`t work at all.

Try basting the underside of the said disc in goose milk. I found this to be a particularly effective method for faulty
