DVDs & Films Forum
Good evening folks.
My good lady has just bought me a Pioneer 105 and bought 25 Datawrite DVD-R to go along with it. I was curious as to why the discs seem to show that a Media file is present and that roughly 50% of the total capacity is used. I will possibly, probably , take them back and change them for another brand but prior to doing so can anyone tell me if this is normal for a "Blank" DVD-R. I never had this with any CD-R media I have used so this seems a bit strange.
Cheers
Choagy :-)
PS , I might be wrong, as usual, but could this be a method to prevent copying from disc to disc.

RE: Datawrite Classic 4X Red Label
If you check the back of the disc it should ( like a CD-R) be just the one shade. If you have 2 shades it means someone has already written on it. I use DATAWRITE and found them very reliable. Just compile a 4.2G data file through NERO or your preferred writing software and see if it will burn it. Coasters do come in useful along the way if it does`nt ! Just take the rest back and demmand a full refund.
Thanks Phil.
The problem was actually down to my software. I was using EZCD 5 Platinum 5.3.10d which was basically not the best for the job. I am using Nero 5.3.9.6 now and everything is rosy red.
