Whats happened to my Pulp Fiction disc?

I was looking through my DVD collection today and got Pulp Fiction out as I was going to watcg it later today. Although I`ve seen the film before I have never watched the DVD (which I`ve had since October 2002).

When I got the disc out I noticed it was covered in some grim all over the disc - its not like the disc rot that was on the Silence of the Lambs DVDs. WTF is this? I`ve played the disc before back in October to test, so this has occurred since then.

Its the R2 special edition. Bought it from Play, anything I can do?

Is it sticky? I used the cleaning cloth and spray for my specs to clean my DVD`s. Works a treat.
