Ghost in the Shell - re-release in august 2003 ???

Carpathian (Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 19th August 2003, 07:53

Recently spotted that some of the online shops are listing a "special edition" of "Ghost in the Shell" for release in the UK in August.

It seems to have all the same features as the original (EXACTLY the same !) but has a new release date.

Does anybody know about this ? Does this finally mean a UK PAL release where the sound actually matches the picture ??

Any info you guys have would be great !

Carpathian (whos bought three copies up to now and still doesn``t have a proper sync`d copy !)

Well, the only way we are going to find out is simply wait - you think Manga UK is going to give out some info like "Yeah, this one will be out of sync, too"!

Could you tell me where did you get the feature list? Play.com doesn`t seem to list them to be same as with the original, but I need more reliable source.

Found the re-release listed at Blackstar (actual page linked below) and the items it lists are the same as the version released previously. Whether they are guessing or know it as fact I`m also curious to see.

After all, if all that was "special" about the "special edition" was that the sound was now in sync it would be VERY poor indeed !!

Well, there is "exclusive free poster", which I assume is that they have folded an actual poster inside the DVD case, which would be a nice thing to have.

Plus it also contains subtitles, and since I am a Finnish, I`d really enjoy watching the movie in my own language.

Since I never got the original release (because of the off-sync sound), this is a must-have for me.
