AvP - to be a 12 certificate!!!
Terrible, terrible news my friends...
I have a friend who`s working on the upcoming AvP film who told me that the production crew are looking for a 12 certificate for release!!!
The only alien stomach erupting scene will be through the Predator`s view (ie infra-red etc.). And there will apparently be no human gore at all in the film!
I mean, talk about wanting it to fail from the start!

You`ve got that right.
How in the hell can they make a decent Alien or Predator film (let alone a crossover) aimed at (let`s face it) kiddies? Given the originals are all rated 18 for a start.
Ideally this movie should be out and out gore and action, with enough nailbiting suspense in parts (a la Alien) to have you damn near poo yourself when it all kicks off. And it ain`t gonna happen in a cinema full of wee buggers on mobiles and p***ing about.
But given that Paul WS Anderson is directing any hopes I had went out the window long ago..

christ, you know what the next step is - Aliens: the animated series on the cartoon network.
Whats the money on this film being a straight to video release?

Strange decision but then again the producers will be rubbing their hands together thinking about all of those kiddies that will be able to go along and see the film. Economics rules over artistic integrity these days
Andy
I`d put my money on it being a 12A
That way they con the parents into having to pay an entry fee as well as the kiddies and therefore screw the movie going public for more dosh.

Hollywood doesn`t aim for a UK rating, but I have heard Paul WS Anderson (swine!) say that it will be a PG-13. This could still mean a 15 rating in the UK, but a tame 15.
Unless of course the UK division of Fox have a 12A as the target, and what we will most likely get is a severely cut version >:(

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, no matter how wrong it is ;-)
I`m sure we`ll get exactly the same version as the US, I very much doubt they`ll cut it down for a 12A...
