Donnie Darko Extended Version with more 80s anthems
Apparantly 21 minutes extra, better sound and more tunes. Coming to cinemas later this year.

At present I`m thinking he should leave it alone (director Richard Kelly that is). It was his debut, and as such he should move on. But if it`s better then, well, great :D

Better 80s tunes depends on whether you think mainstream is better than the more alternative selection he ended up using

Can anyone help?
I`ve been looking practically everywhere for the song (Ave Maria) that plays at the end of the film, into the credits. There are many different versions of it but the one from the film is nowhere to be found. It`s not even on the OST or Musical Score.
Does anyone know or have it? :/
RE: Donnie Darko Extended Version with more 80s anthems
well the only alternate songs he was going to use were...
MLK by U2 instead of Mad World cover by Gary Jules (later is better)
West End Girls by the Pet Shop Boys instead of Notorious by Duran Duran in dance sequence...West End Girls fits better in the sequence
Never TEar Us Apart by INXS instead of The Killing Moon by Echo and the Bunnymen, and god forbid he should replace that fantastic song!
of course, there could be other songs in the deleted scenes.
