Page 1 of X-Men R2 problems?
DVDs & Films Forum
Does anyone elses X-Men R2 have problems with the menu? After the animation of the spherical room, four menu options appear in boxes, when the boxes appear it pauses for 3 or so seconds before the text appears. If I choose play then it plays an animation ofleaving the room, blanks out, then the boxes appear again, pauses, and then the film starts!
On the first watch the layer change was really noticable aswell, pauses and stutters, but I can`t find it again - could some one let me know where (time or chapter) the layer change takes place?
I`ve tried 2 X-Men discs, and also on a Daewoo player (mine is a Sharp 620, I took the Daewoo back after 4 months because of grainy pictures etc), on the Daewoo the menu worked perfectly.

My copy of X-Men didn`t malfunction as such but the menus were very
s-l-o-w.
I had the same problem on the region 1 disk when I tried to view the deleted scenes.

Only problems l had with this movie, was that it was too short, bub!
I had problems with poorly manufactured discs, there were some obvious dents in the disc under the flat surface, it was there on a few when i took it back to WHSmiths - i know cos the woman said you can check it if you like, so we went thru about 3 until we found one with perfect playing surface.
Could be faulty manufacturing - Fox had that problem with Buffy VHS videos before so could just be their technology is crud.
Once i got a good one, it worked fine though
On my hitachi DV-P305e, it runs a little slow on the meun
my player does not have any problems at all with either the region 1 or 2 discs.
