A good AVI player for the PC? I cannot get AVI files to load using Windows Media.

I think this should be in the PC & Mobiles forum...

Are you talking about DivX/Xvid AVI files?
In which case it might simply be that you don`t have the right codecs installed

Probably in the wrong forum, but it hasnt been moved yet.

I have tried to download the right codecs but nothing doing.

I have been trying to get an AVI player on various `ahem` download sites with no success.

Is there a recommendation that others use except for Windows Media?

try global divx player or BSplayer they might help, I think Global divx searches for the correct codes for u if u havent got them installed, also the kazaa codec pack willcover all the codec needed, i presume u r talking about divx encoded AVI FILES, just searcg on google for those players i recommeded.

search for a program called Gspot and load your AVI into it. It will tell tell you what codecs you need and if you already have them installed. I use nothing but BSplayer and i highly recommend it.
