Does anyone know where I can get hold of this documentary
I have tried ebay and dvdpricecheck with no luck. I dont suppose anyone here owns it, and is able to do me a (cough) backup are they?
Meet The Wife
this is no help, but i saw that on telly... good luck with the hunt!
Paradise Lost isn`t on DVD, but Paradise Lost 2 is: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005MKOU/?tag=myrev09-21
The first one has been released on VHS (NTSC), but I think is deleted now.
I`m sure they`ve both screened on FilmFour, so it might be worth checking their listings from time to time.
Dazza.
Just to dig this thread up again as both parts are now out on dvd.
I have to say that it is a very powerful piece of film making. Naturally you are always going to have the Michael Moore-distorted-view-on-the-subject-matter-to-draw-sympathy-emotion side of things but this seems to be a case that will rage for a long time yet.
3 kids caged for murder yet there was little to no evidence whatsoever other than they dressed like Goths (well the ringleader (allegedly) did and he is the one on Death Row)
Definitely worth a watch and if you want to get any background info then simply go to www.wm3.org
I saw a documentary on the West Memphis three (may have been this one - it was on Channel 4) and as far as I remember I came to the conclusion that they are guilty and are exactly where they should be (well not on death row, but that`s a different issue altogether).
I think there`s a film coming out soon.

Please watch Paradise Lost and let me know if you still think the same! I guarantee that you wont. So many holes in prosecution case that the verdict must be considered unsafe
No physical evidence linking them to crime scene
No DNA evidence
Coerced "confession" from a guy with obvious learning difficulties
During "confession" a minor was refused representation, and throughout a 12 hour interview only 45 minutes was ever recorded.
Bite marks on victims that did not come from the 3 convicted.
And so much more.

Looking on the IMDb, it must`ve been this (either part) that I saw as there`s nothing else credited for Echols, and I remember finding him chilling and intimidating (or at least I *think* I remember that!).
I remember watching it *expecting* to be outraged, but wasn`t (see also: that Nick Broomfield Aileen Wournos docu, I thought she should be in a padded cell though, not on death row, but I had no great sympathy for her)). Though I`d need to watch it again to see if I still feel that way.
The IMDb has some good threads on the matter debating the evidence.
